Abhishek Chaubey's next, Udta Punjab, has gone on floors.
The shooting commenced in Amritsar with Kareena Kapoor giving the opening shot. The scene was shot in GMC Hospital.
Daljit Dosanjh who plays a pivotal role in the film was also present on the set.
Kareena was in a simple salwaar kurta while Daljit wore a blue turban and semi-formal clothes.
Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt play the main leads.
Shahid now has a tiny pony tail tied right up, which is possibly his hairdo for Udta Punjab. It remains to be seen if the actor has a turbaned look in the film.

Udta Punjab is Shahid's first film with Kareena after they parted ways while filming Imtiaz Ali's Jab We Met in 2007. Sources say that the two don't have any scene together in the film
Buzz is, Ekta Kapoor is financing Chaubey's project (SpotboyE.com, March 6) which is being produced by Phantom Films.
